Why we created Travel Imago

There is an interesting problem hidden inside the way luxury travel is marketed.

A travel company may spend months designing an itinerary — choosing properties, connecting destinations, selecting experiences and determining the pace of the trip — only for the finished journey to be presented through a collection of supplier photographs.

The photographs may be excellent. But the itinerary is something different from any one of them.

That distinction is the thinking behind Travel Imago, the travel arm of the Imago family from Glass Hue.

The journey is the creative work

A well-designed itinerary has authorship.

The choice of one hotel over another matters. So does the order of destinations, the contrast between experiences and the amount of time given to each place. Taken together, those decisions express the travel company's knowledge and point of view.

Yet much of the available visual material belongs naturally to the component parts of the trip: a resort photographs its rooms and restaurants; a destination partner photographs its landscape; an experience provider documents what it offers.

The opportunity is to take those existing travel assets and create something that belongs to the journey.

That is where film becomes particularly useful.

From supplier photography to itinerary storytelling

A film has sequence built into it.

It can leave one place and arrive at another. It can establish a change of pace, move between landscape and detail, or connect a hotel stay to the experience that follows it.

For an itinerary, those transitions matter. They are part of what separates a journey from a directory of places.

Travel Imago works with existing hotel, destination and experience photography to create films around that wider narrative. The intention is not to disguise where the source material came from. It is to give the travel company a piece of content organised around the trip it has created.

We think of that territory as itinerary storytelling.

A distinct place within Imago

Travel Imago grew from work originally developed within our hospitality practice, but travel companies present a different creative problem from hotels.

A hotel tells the story of a property and the guest experience around it.

A travel company can tell the story of movement between properties, destinations and experiences.

Keeping those disciplines distinct matters. It lets Hotel Imago remain hotel-native while Travel Imago develops its own language around journeys, itineraries and destinations.

The underlying Glass Hue principle remains consistent: start with credible source material, respect what it represents, and find the story that gives those assets a reason to become film.

Travel Imago is the result.

Every journey has a story.

Itinerary films · Destination stories · Travel content.
